Day 1: Welcome to Arusha – Family Relaxation
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your Keva Tours and Travel guide will be waiting to warmly welcome your family to Tanzania. You will be transferred to a beautiful, family-friendly hotel in Arusha. Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool, shaking off the jet lag, and enjoying a lovely welcome dinner as your guide briefs you on the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Meet the Elephants
After breakfast, your safari officially begins! You will drive to Tarangire National Park, the perfect place to introduce your family to the African wild. Kids will be amazed by the towering, ancient baobab trees and the massive herds of elephants that roam the park. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush and a thrilling afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge to cool off in the swimming pool.
Overnight near Tarangire or Karatu.

Day 3: Maasai Culture & Nature Walk
Today is all about culture and stretching your legs! To break up the driving, we’ll take you to a local Maasai village. Your family will learn about their fascinating traditional lifestyle, watch traditional jumping dances, and see how they build their homes. In the afternoon, enjoy a safe, guided nature walk near your lodge where kids can learn to identify animal tracks, plants, and insects.

Day 4: The Ngorongoro Crater – A Real-Life Lion King
Wake up early and descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Because the wildlife is enclosed within the crater walls, the animals are dense and easy to spot—perfect for younger attention spans! You’ll see thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and flamingos, and have a great chance of spotting lions and the rare black rhino. Enjoy lunch by a hippo pool before heading back up to the rim.
Overnight on the Ngorongoro Crater Rim or Karatu.

Day 5: Journey to the Serengeti
After breakfast, you will pack up and drive toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. The drive is a mini-adventure itself, passing through the highlands before the vast plains reveal themselves. Keep your cameras ready as you enjoy an en-route game drive toward your family-friendly camp. In the evening, gather around the campfire to roast marshmallows and listen to the sounds of the African night.

Day 6: Full Day Serengeti Safari
Today, you have a full day to explore the Serengeti! Because you have a private vehicle, the day is entirely flexible. You can head out early to spot big cats on the prowl, return to camp for a hot lunch and a midday nap, and head out again in the afternoon. Your guide will work with you to ensure the day is perfectly paced for your family’s comfort and excitement.

Day 7: Serengeti to Karatu (Optional Flight)
Enjoy one last morning game drive in the Serengeti. After breakfast, you will slowly game-drive your way out of the park and back toward the lush Karatu highlands. (Note: To avoid the long drive back, Keva Tours and Travel highly recommends booking an optional short internal flight from the Serengeti directly to Arusha for families!) Spend your final afternoon relaxing by the pool at your lodge and sharing your favorite memories from the trip.

Day 8: Arusha & Journey Home
Enjoy a final, relaxed breakfast. If time permits before your international flight, you can do some souvenir shopping in Arusha or visit a local craft market. Your guide will then transfer your family to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will leave with a camera full of incredible photos and a family bond that only an African adventure can create!
